Measurement Systems Analysis
10110061011205Measurement Systems AnalysisMeasurement error contributes to errors in estimates of common causes, special causes, and process capability. In some cases, measurement error is a dominant source of common cause process variation estimated in the process capability study; in other cases measurement error contributes to special cause variation. In cases where measurement error is dominant, process improvement is synonymous with improvement of the measurement system. Measurement systems analysis can also be used to qualify measurement fixtures or methods for suitability of use, or operators' proficiency on these equipment and methods.
