Dave K. Adams, S.E. is a principal associate with BWE, Inc., in San Diego, California, and a graduate of the University of California, San Diego. He has been doing structural design and investigation work for more than 25 years, and currently holds registration as a structural engineer in the states of California and Illinois. In addition to working on engineering projects at BWE, Dave serves as a Subject Matter Expert (structural) for the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists. He has also assisted in the development and grading of the 16-hour nationwide structural engineer licensing exam published by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Dave has presented numerous technical papers at engineering conventions and is the author of The Structural Engineer's Professional Training Manual. He also teaches face-to-face seminars and webinars for the American Society of Civil Engineers.
