PostscriptEric Moussambani, a swimmer from Equatorial Guinea, was in over his head. Moussambani was at the Sydney Olympics, swimming a heat in the 100-meter freestyle. Through a series of weird circumstances, all the other swimmers in his heat had dropped out or been disqualified; Moussambani was alone in the pool.Not only had he never won a race of that distance, Moussambani had never swum that far before.
