Charge and Discharge
Charge and DischargeDepending on battery technology and manufacturer's specifications, charge and discharge techniques can vary significantly from one battery to the other. Typically though, batteries can be charged or discharged using a combination of constant current, constant voltage, constant power modes. Depending on the type of battery and their adoption in the industry, a set of norms and regulations have been approved by regulatory bodies and must be complied with by battery charger manufacturers (i.e., DIN 41773, DIN 41774 for lead-acid batteries).Charging is the process of replenishing the battery cell capacity by storing energy and increasing capacity from an initial value to a final value higher than the previous.
