Load AnalysisDepending on the applications for the ESS, one of the first steps in system design is the sizing of the load. In case the load is the distribution grid, the feeder line is considered as an infinite load or generator that can absorb or supply an infinite amount of electric energy. In such case, no sizing at all is needed and all ESS needs can be fulfilled when the ESS is connected to the distribution grid. In case the load is not connected to the grid, the system is said to be in island or in stand-alone mode.
